Why did God Create Humanity
Share
Have you ever wondered why God created humanity?
Why do people create? We create to express, and to resolve. Creation, at its core, is these two things.
Omni
If you believe God is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, and omnibenevolent, you must ask what purpose humanity plays in His existence. With God having these attributes, we must realize He does not need humanity. To be omni means He needs nothing.
Need is an interesting thing. I’m talking about a real need, not a want. A cell phone is a want; it is not a need. There are millions of people living great lives without cell phones. But none of those people are living well without food or sleep.
So, did God or does God need us?
So, did God or does God need us? No, He does not. He was perfect before us, and He will be perfect when we are gone. Did God have a problem humanity could resolve? No. We lack the capacity to understand if God has problems or the resources necessary to resolve them if He has any. And with God being omni, it means if He has problems, He has all the resources to fix them.
An Expression of Love
So, if God is complete, needing nothing, and having complete ability and total perfection, why did He create humanity? I believe He created us as an expression of His love. God is love. He created humanity as an outpouring or as a product of His love.
