Spiritual Gifts
Have you ever wondered what my spiritual gift is, or do I have one? Paul, writing the book of 1 Corinthians, says.
'Now concerning spiritual gifts , brethren, I would not have you ignorant. '
1 Corinthians 12:1

'Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. '

Do I have Spiritual Gifts?
The question is not whether you have spiritual gifts. The question is, what is your spiritual gift? Or, better asked, what are your spiritual gifts plural? Each one of us is gifted. The problem arises when we try to isolate our gifts into a particular stream of life. We tend to think that our gifting is lifelong, or we would like it to be.
But God, in his infinite wisdom, knows that as the season of our lives changes, so must our giftings. What that means is that as you go through life, your level of skill, wisdom, knowledge, and abilities change, and so must your giftings. As you age and become more proficient in life, new doors of opportunity and passion open up. However, in order to benefit from these new doors and opportunities, change is required. The giftings of the past will not do for the present and the future.
I am not talking about enhanced knowledge and proficiency in your gift or field but the opening up of opportunities that were previously closed to you. These new opportunities are not the development of your gift but the requirement of implementation of completely different gifts.
It is like a child blossoming into an adult.
It is like a child blossoming into an adult. You see through your eyes all of the possibilities that exist in the child. You see all they are capable of, and you wonder which of those abilities they will thrive in. The misconception we have is that we must pick one ability and one gift and concentrate on that and only that. When the truth is that throughout your life, there will be time to excel in many of those giftings. There will be times in our lives when we must employ our other giftings.
God designed us to adapt to the different seasons of our lives. We were created in God's likeness, and part of God's likeness is change—creation. We were created with the ability to create to respond to different situations with different actions.
If we don’t employ the gifts God has instilled in us, we will fail to fulfill the purpose of having gifts in the first place. “But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” Your giftings were created and given to you to bless, edify, and sustain those around you. Your gifts were given to you as sustenance for the body of Christ.
In life, the goal is.
In life, the goal is to walk in the gifts God has most generously given you. To live the fullest life, one must not get stuck in one gift. The goal is to discover and revel in the wonderous creation you are. God wants you to live gloriously by discovering and using all He has provided for you throughout your life. He is with you through all the seasons of your life and has supplied every need in every season. You are marvelously gifted; blossom like that child into all that God knows you can be.
